Plant-based news - September 2024!

1. Alnut, the company responsible for producing the plant-based dairy alternative, has introduced 2 new flavors of plant-based yogurt alternative in the Spanish market to Aldi stores under the My Vay brand: açai with passion fruit and coconut with chunks.

2. On September 2, we celebrated Coconut Day. On this day, many companies – which base their production activities on coconut – presented the benefits and advantages of reaching for this magical nut both in its original form and in processed form.

3. The Food Entrepreneurship Academy has unveiled a prototype of a plant-based alternative to chicken pieces that looks a lot like the chicken of a popular fasfood chain from Kentucky.

4. In September, OGGS showed 2 sweet launches. The company launched OGGS Hot Chocolate & Marshmallow Cupcakes and Lemon Loaf Cake.

5. Polish pizzeria chain Da Grasso has introduced a new form of lunch – “dziabs” in a vegetarian version. In appearance, the dish resembles a combination of a taco and a wrap.

6. Ferrero has introduced plant-based Nutella in select European markets. The plant-based version of the product replaces milk with rice syrup and chickpeas.

7. Planted has launched 7 products on the shelves of the Albert Heijn store chain in all Benelux countries. In addition, the company’s game changer Planted Steak made its debut in the Italian market.

8. Wege Sisters, a producer of plant-based dairy alternatives from Poland, has debuted on the shelves of the Intermarche store chain in Poland.

9. Planeat – a producer of plant-based meat substitutes – has developed a plant-based alternative to pulled pork in 2 flavors: naked and chipotle BBQ.

10. FORMO broke the bank in September! The manufacturer of a plant-based dairy alternative has introduced its innovative, delicious product, Frischhain, to the REWE and BILLA AG store chains (in Germany and Austria). In addition, the company raised $61 million in its latest funding round (B)!
